I love when two people that are extraordinary on their own join forces to create an even more extraordinary project! Katrina Padron, a social media strategist, and Mariah Danielsen, marketing guru and wedding stylist, will be launching The Create + Connect Project in June to help creative entrepreneurs learn the basics of marketing with the support of others. Because we all know that we do better when we have a support group, friends, and others to collaborate with. Here’s a little peek into the ladies behind this fabulous project that will be launching soon!
In case some people don’t know who the two of you are, would you mind introducing yourselves?
Mariah is a live-the-life-you-want-career girl who mastered the art and science of turning my hobbies into a full time dream job. From graphic, web and marketing guru to wedding stylist and blogger.
Katrina is a status quo challenging social media strategist for creative entrepreneurs who want to make money doing what they love and have dreams in their heart and their mind and believe now’s the time to live them.
How did the two of you meet and what made you decide to start this project?
Five years ago I was a Director and Marketing and Mariah started as a design intern at the same company. Since then, Mariah was promoted to Lead Graphic and Web Designer and I became the company’s Social Media Strategist. We both had a lot of big dreams and started making the steps necessary to get us from where we were to where we wanted to be.
The Create + Connect Project was created from really wanting to work on something together and our passion to help other people do what they love doing.
Honestly, when we started we didn’t even know exactly what it was going to be, but we decided to take all of expertise from the corporate world and combine it with everything we’ve done for our businesses that worked and tried to fit it in one neat little package.
What makes the Create and Connect Project unique?
The recipe is different. We’ve fused online marketing, social media, web development and design with branding, messaging and PR. We even include things like the exact scripts we used to get featured on HGTV. If that weren’t enough, we’re even bringing in big names like Erin Loechner from Design for Mankind and Shauna Alterio from Something’s Hiding in Here and Forage to share strategies that worked for them and Kal from Link with Love to teach them how to use Pinterest legally. It’s the best collaboration and content on the topic.
Why do you think connecting with others as a group is so important?
Oprah says, “Surround yourself with only people who are going to lift you higher.”
We’ve been so lucky to have each other for accountability and encouragement. It’s important for us to share that.
What’s the thing you’re really looking forward to with your launch and what should members look forward to as well?
Honestly seeing change in people’s businesses and lives and creating a community of amazing talented people are the things we are most looking forward to.
