Your Facebook business page can actually be quite powerful so long as you remember to use it as a person who runs a business and not just a business.  A business talks at their customers.  A person who runs a business talks to their customers.

Interaction is key with your Facebook fans if you want to get, and keep, their attention.  To keep interaction rates up, we’ve come up with a list of 10 things to post to your Facebook business page.

  1. In-progress shot of your work.  People love nothing more than to see what you’re working on.  It helps get your fans excited even before the piece is finished!
  2. Graphic that includes a photo AND text.  Images with text get shared by your fans whereas text alone gets passed over most of the time.  Make your Facebook page content as shareable as possible!
  3. Link to a cool artist or maker’s website.  Besides garnering good karma, you show that you aren’t afraid of competition.  You also get to share some of your favorite people with your fans.
  4. Great quotes or photos that fit your brand.  Nowadays, people LOVE to share inspirational quotes and photographs.
  5. News of upcoming shows or fairs.  If some of your fans are local, it’s best to let them know about your upcoming events so they can come out and support you!
  6. Ask a question that will get your readers thinking.  People are nothing if not opinionated so give them the chance to share their minds with you.  (Just remember if you’re asking a specific question regarding a future product or service to make sure you only listen to the answers of the people who are the right people.  Listening to all of your fans will get you nowhere fast.)
  7. A photo of where you work.  Even if it’s just a corner table in your kitchen, your fans will love to see where the magic happens.
  8. A photo when you meet up with another maker or coaching friend.  Everyone knows someone else who is a creative entrepreneur.  Get some mutual marketing in by sharing your coffee date photos!
  9. A thought of the day.  This is a great way to share your brand with your fans.  By sharing a thought a day, you let them really get to know you.
  10. Your latest blog post.  You can NEVER share your blog posts enough and chances are only a tenth of your Facebook fans read it on your blog.

Hopefully these 10 things have got your little grey cells buzzing with ideas for your Facebook page.  I’d love to know what else you’ve been posting on your page that has gotten your fans interacting with you.
